“This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”Psalm 34: 6-7, 10
Peace and good to all.
If my share my thoughts on the above passage from the Book of Psalm.
There are moments in our lives when we feel so down, so helpless and seemed to be already at the end of the rope. We seemed to be hopeless that whatever we are going through, perhaps a sickness, a death of a loved one, financial problems, or family problems, we seem to be getting nowhere despite all the praying that we are doing. Then, we prayed even more, “believed” even more, and yet, we did not get what we have been praying for. Some of us, will have the tendency to get frustrated and try to question God of why He is not answering your prayers. Asking God why He abandoned him in his situation and even questioning God’s existence afterwards. Many people are like this my friends. Questioning the very existence of God whom they once prayed before. Questioning God after he was not saved from the trouble he was asking to be freed from.
Into the uncertainty of our lives, the above verse reminds us that David too, with all the might and glory, was not spared of troubles and hardship, he even considered himself a poor man and have asked God for His protection. And, the above verse is David’s testimony that God is the Great Deliverer. David wants to remind us that if God has delivered him, then He will likewise deliver us.
Our Father knows the innermost part of our hearts. He knows our needs even before we even ask. He hears our prayers whether it’s a one liner prayer or novel type of prayer, He listens to them all. He hears them and He knows what is right for us such that He answers our prayer in the way and on time that is best for us. Have faith on God who delivers. Have faith on God who saves.
When there is a delay of His response on your prayer, perhaps it’s a way for your to think if you yourself is missing a point, like whether it is you yourself who is blocking the communication. Perhaps you yourself do not believe in the authority and power of God whom you are asking help from. Perhaps you have not completely trusted that what you have asked for have been heard already by our Lord Jesus. Perhaps you need a cleansing and a complete acceptance of Jesus as your deliverer.
David has a deep and intimate relationship with God, yet he was not immune from troubles, he was flocked by enemies. But, since he has a personal relationship with God, prayer for him is characterized with simplicity – just like a child talking and asking help from his Father.
When we have a proper and personal relationship with Jesus, praying to Him becomes ordinary. It becomes a way of life. It becomes a part of your everyday life. Hence, when we ask something from Him, we should completely trust that our prayers are heard by Him already and that the same shall be granted in accordance with His will and in the way that is best for us. When we are with Jesus, we lack nothing. We have contentment in our hearts, we have peace within.
