Children of light..

“For you were once  darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said:

   “Wake up, sleeper,

    rise from the dead,

and Christ will shine on you.”

Ephesians 9: 8, 11, 13-14

Peace and good to all.

If I may share my thoughts on the above Bible passage.

Before Christ in our lives, we were the actual  description of darkness.  We were once in darkness, lost, confused and scared. We lived in fear, emptiness and sadness because there was no light, there was no hope, there was nothing to cling on. Physically we were like living in autopilot but spiritually, we were dead.

Then Jesus came and we accepted Him as our saviour. Little by little, light begins to illuminate our life and as we continue to commune with Christ and develop a personal relationship with Him, we started to find our way, there was no more confusion, there was no more fear, we were no longer lost because Jesus has  illuminated our life,  He became our light and, therefore, we as His children became children of light.

And, if we are children of  light, then we must walk the way children of the light should walk: Doing good, resisting evil, helping those who are in need, following God’s teachings, spreading and sharing the good news of salvation, and doing things in order to bring those in the darkness to the light, who is Jesus.

As children of light, we will be tempted by the enemy, the enemy will feed our minds with hatred, mundane things, fear, illness in order to bring us again to the darkness of sin, but remember this my friends, as  children of light we have the authority through our prayers and as guided by the Holy Spirit, to resist the devil. Resist the devil and it will flee, in Jesus name. Remember that in the midst of our pain from illness physically or emotionally, in the midst of all our struggle, in Christ, we are light, we are His children. Have faith and trust Him, continue to live and walk as children of light.
