“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.
“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.Luke 11:21-23
Peace and good to all.
If I may share my reflection on the above quoted Bible verse.
The strong man referred to in the above verse is the enemy, Satan. And yes, he was fully armed and his weapons consists of temptation, ignorance, carnal pleasure and many more.
He guards his own place which is the heart and soul of unbeliever, of a sinful and unrepented and of corrupt man. That was where he dwells as a King, in their hearts and minds, feeding his conquest of earthly pleasures, temporary successes, lust, drugs, bodily pleasures, popularity and all their carnal needs, in order for his conquest to forget God, in order for his conquest not to seek God.
And, when some will remember to cry for the knowledge of God, the devil will feed them again with earthly possession for them to forget God, until its too late already as every piece of earthly possession coming from the devil is a step to move forward to hell.
Satan is crafty, he knows how to subdue the human flesh, he knows their weaknesses, and he knows how entice those that have tried to assault him or despise him. But not until someone stronger than he turns up and take the challenge and overpower him.
Not until Jesus stronger than the devil, turns up and casts him and his minions to hell. Satan may be strong, but Jesus is stronger. The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, but Jesus have opened their eyes encouraging us that “He who is in you, is greater than who is in the world.” The devil may be mighty but Jesus is almighty. And, all that Jesus is asking for is to believe in Him, the source and only way of our salvation. He is the God the Father’s manifestation of His great love for us, his creations, to save us through Jesus. How many of us know the primary memory verse of salvation – John 3:16, by the way?
Even in our lives as believers of Christ, the devil will try his way to attack us, to entice us, to outwit us, to even use our past sins for us to feel ashamed and be back to him, the devil. Remember this my friends, when God forgives our sins, it’s a total forgiveness. He does not keep a record of our sins, so, do not allow yourself to be outwitted by the devil.
I read this somewhere, “Satan may seem strong, sin may seem powerful, shame may seem enslaving, but Jesus is stronger.” And, I agree. Praise the Lord that we have Jesus.
God be with us all.
