“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.“

If I may share my insights on the above quoted Bible verse.
This is Paul’s prayer to God for people who have hopes and trust in the gospel he preached about Jesus Christ. He was incarcerated that time and Paul prays to God for Him to strengthen their faith and continue to trust in Him.
This prayer of Paul transcended time. It is a prayer not only for the Ephesians but also a prayer for you and me, who have accepted Christ Jesus as our savior. It is a prayer to ask Christ to continue to strengthen our faith in Him so that He will continue to dwell in us. Jesus dwells in us— in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
This is also a prayer for us to be able to understand how great God’s love for us. God’s love surpasses knowledge that is why man cannot fully comprehend it. But when God sent Jesus, His only begotten son, to save us from sin and destroy death, God’s immeasurable love for us has been shown. Such a sacrificial love that no one can be able to understand. Why did God do that? Because God himself is LOVE. He cannot stop loving us. He cannot avoid to love us. Even when people have disobeyed Him and have forgotten Him, He could not – not love us. That is why, He sent His only son, to save us in order that we will get back to His love.
But still, human frailties and sin get into our way to accept His Son Jesus, as our saviour, and, therefore, prevents man to understand and experience the love of God. And, yet, God is still there, just waiting for us to come back, and because His love for us is unlike human love, the moment we repent from our sins and ask Him to take us back in His arms, He would readily do so, because He loves us so much. We cannot fathom the kind of love God has for us, for our understanding of love is based only on human reasons.
But though it is very hard to fully explain, we can experience God’s love for us through our faith in Jesus who dwells in our hearts through the Holy Spirit. However, we would not be able to fully understand God’s love if we do not spend time with the one who loves us first – God.
We need to take time to be in a relationship with Him in order to know Him better. We know that he speaks to us through the scriptures, so, let’s read the Bible, through the Holy Spirit, He will make us understand His messages as hidden in the gospel of his disciples; as covered by riddles and proverbs; as mounted in His parables and teachings; and, under the crypt in the notes and hymn of the lyrics of Psalms and the mysteries of all the Books in the Bible. Attend Bible study group, go to your place of worship, and listen to the testimonies of christian friends about Christ, and as we get to know Him better, our faith in Him increases, our understanding of His love increases, until joy and peace overflow in other parts of our lives ready to be shared to others for them to experience God’s love. This is when I think, we experience the fullness of God.
