“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”Matthew 14: 28-31
Peace and good to all.
If I may share my insights on the above gospel of our Lord.
Spiritual strength and strong faith in Jesus is what we need in order to brave the tempest of life without sinking into the waters of hopelessness and despair.
We all pass through difficult waters in our lives. A few of them can be violent, frightening, and potentially destructive. This pandemic that we experience today is but one frightening happening that creates fear in the hearts of many including those who already believe in Him. And, we often say what Peter uttered to Jesus: “Lord, save me!”.
When fear attacks us, remember that we have with us Jesus. Take comfort that He is with us and He can put order in those chaos. Let not these fears strain our faith in God who has the power to put order to all the chaos in our lives.
Whatever tribulations we are into, whether man made or made by the devil, we will not sink into the waters of hopelessness and despair if we remain to have faith in God who can put calm and command to be still all the storms and waves in our lives. Trust in Jesus and you will have peace within. Trust Jesus with everything , including the unfortunate and uncomfortable instances in our lives and it will make you feel not alone in tough times for you know He is there on your side.
