“Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”
Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.
Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

If I may share my insights on the above gospel of our Lord.
There are two things that the above gospel is telling us. Mercy, which we need to ask from Jesus and faith in Him.
Have you noticed how those who wanted healing from Jesus, whether for himself, for a member of his family or member of a workforce, come to Jesus? They, in all humility asked Him to have mercy on them, to save them. And, whether it be physical healing or spiritual, through their faith and trust in the mighty power of Jesus as the ultimate healer, they were all healed.
But do we all understand what God’s mercy is? Can we just ask for God’s mercy when we ask and pray for something but continue to oppress or take advantage of others or continue to steal or live a sinful life? I don’t think so. For God’s mercy is equivalent to forgiveness which means that we ought to have a repentant heart first. Remember that God is merciful and forgiving to those who repent.
We all have different issues in life, it can be health, spiritual, financial, psychological, being broken hearted, addictions etc., even this pandemic is one of those. We all need mercy from Jesus. We can be like the man in the gospel, fall before Jesus and say: “Lord have mercy.”
On faith. We can all say for sure that we have faith in Jesus. But do we really have that one true powerful faith in Jesus that is absent of any doubt at all? Faith is easy to say but to have that for real in your heart, without any doubt at all, with full of trust in Jesus, is I think some of us or most if not all of us, still lack
With constant communication with Jesus and by building a strong relationship with Him, as it deepens, I believe we will all have it. Faith is believing in the promises and the power of Jesus without any spot of doubt at all and with by the grace of God, we will have it, in Jesus name.
