Psalm 117

“Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love towards us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.

  Praise the Lord.”

Psalm 117

Peace and good to all.

If my share my thoughts on the above passage from the Book of Psalm.

Psalm 117 is the shortest psalm and the shortest chapter in the Bible, but it contains a great and clear message of God to us:  (1) For all nations to praise God; and, (2) The cause of why we need to praise Him.

The message of God is clear right from the start, He is encouraging or inviting all people from all nations, to praise the Lord our God because His  divine plan is for the redemption of all, for the salvation of everyone, so that no one will be left. The message transcended beyond the boarders of nations and it transcended time because God himself is transcendent.  The Book of Psalm was written before Christ, but thru Christ, we His followers, are now reading this great God’s message – for all nations to praise our Lord God.

And, why should we praise God? The message is clear also: God’s love towards us is great and God’s faithfulness endures forever.  God so love us that He sent His only begotten son to redeem us and all His creations  by His death and resurrection and to give us new life. So that we can be freed from sin caused by the fall of Adam and Eve.  God loves each of us personally, as parents know and love their children. We cannot see Him because He is pure spirit but we can know Him through Jesus teachings in Bible, through the scriptures, through our prayer, through our faith in Him.

What God has promised, He will provide. God does not lie, because He is the Truth.  He does not break a promise. He does not break a covenant. Whatever He has said, He will make it happen. the Bible contains plenty of God’s promises to His people, a promise of protection, of forgiveness, of provision, of strength, of eternal life. As long as we remain with Him, with absolute certainty, God will make true of these promises to us. Praise the Lord.
