“As has just been said:
“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”Hebrews 3:15
Peace and good to all.
If I may share my thoughts on the above Bible passage.
“Today, if you hear His voice, harden not your hearts!”
But how would you know that it’s the voice of Jesus that you are hearing? It’s easy to answer this if you are already a believer of Christ, and have made Christ your good shepherd. We, as His sheep could readily recognize His voice the moment He calls us. Remember, John 10:3-4?
But to those who have not accepted Christ yet as their saviour, to those who said that they believe but the truth is they are still unbelievers, it would be hard for them to recognize the voice of God. And, they have to be careful and discerning, for there would be times that even the scriptures would be used by the enemy in order to mislead the truth, in order to confuse.
The word of God is spoken through the Bible, through the sacred scriptures, but with all the mystery and hidden truth in the verses of the Bible, faith in God and guidance of the Holy Spirit are needed to fully comprehend the message of God. And, this can happen only when one accepts Christ as His saviour and develops a personal relationship with Him.
To the eyes of the unbeliever, the printed words in the Bible could mean nothing or something he could not comprehend. But to the eyes of a believer, each word he sees and reads, forms a pattern directly speaking to his heart, unveiling the hidden truth about the word of God. When this happens, he knows then that God is in the word, God is at work, calling him into action to share the good message so that others may hear His voice too.
To everyone who reads this, whether a believer or not. When the word of God is shared unto you, please read, process and pray. Ponder what the Holy Spirit is trying to tell you and harden not your heart. Be thankful to God for you are blessed to receive His sacred word through a brother or a sister, or friend or from just a mere random stranger whose post you came across from the internet. God be with you.
