Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?
He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.
They will spend their days in prosperity,
and their descendants will inherit the land.
The Lord confides in those who fear him;
he makes his covenant known to them.Psalm 25:12-14
Peace and good to all.
If I may share about the quoted verse from the Book of Psalm.
Who is the man who fears the Lord? Who is the man who reveres and respects the Lord our God? Why? Why do we want to know?
Because the above verse said that a man who fears God will be instructed by God himself in all his ways, he will be guided and trained by God who will direct his life. And, he will walk and live in accordance with God’s teachings and knowledge imparted to him. A man who fears God gains wisdom, he gains understanding of God’s holiness, peace and goodness. He gains knowledge of God’s forgiveness amidst God’s greatness.
A man who fears God will have plenty of blessings. Material or spiritual, when a person surrenders himself to God, he shall not want anymore. Everything about him is centered to God. Trusting that God will supply all his needs and that of his family. This person may not be materially well at the moment in the eyes of others, but because of his trust in God and his faith in Him, he worries no more, because of the trust that blessings and prosperity would come on time to him and his family. His life is centered not on material needs or want but on his life with God. For this person, he is secured and cannot be moved by any hardships or worries, because God is with him.
When a man fears God, he will try to get to know Him more, each day, everyday, no matter what the time is. This is because he wants to have a deeper knowledge of God and, time is irrelevant anymore. It is in this experience of trying to know God deeper that He shares His mysteries with him. He makes his mystic and sacred being known to him. And, this can be shared only by God when a person has deeper understanding of Him in spiritual level. They will be like “friends” sharing their secrets with one another but only as far as this person can bear.
There is no greater peace than the peace that comes knowing that you have a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus. The Bible reveals God to us. The Holy Sprit guides us to understand it and Jesus speaks to us directly from the passages and verses we read. Let’s read the Bible.
